Terms of Use

What using this site means

By reading Transitionagingparents you accept that the articles are offered as shared guidance for families caring for older relatives, on the basis set out below. These terms apply to every page. Questions can be sent to [email protected].

Not medical, legal or care advice

Everything here is general information and the operator’s opinion. It is not medical advice, a diagnosis, legal guidance or a care plan. Articles on Alzheimer’s and dementia describe common patterns, but every person’s condition and needs differ. Decisions about medication, safety, driving, capacity, finances or moving a parent should be made with the relevant doctor, nurse, lawyer or social worker. In an emergency, contact local emergency services at once instead of relying on a web page.

Who owns the content

The writing, layout and original material belong to the operator or are used with permission. You may read the pages, quote a short passage with a clear mention of the site, and share links. Republishing full articles or using them in paid products requires written permission first.

Using the site properly

Do not attempt to break into the site, flood it with automated requests, introduce harmful code or use it to send unwanted messages. Do not use it to harass others or for any unlawful purpose. Access may be limited where that protects the site and its readers.

What you send us

When you send a correction, question or topic idea, you confirm that you have the right to share it and that it does not expose another person’s private details without their consent. By sending it you let the operator read it and draw on the idea for future articles, though a reply or publication is never promised.

Sponsors, affiliate links and the sites they point to

Articles may mention home safety equipment, care services, books, support organisations or legal and financial resources, and some links may be affiliate links that earn the operator a small commission at no extra cost to you. Those destinations sit outside the control of this site, and their prices, claims and standards of care are theirs alone. Check any provider carefully before trusting them with a parent’s wellbeing. Advertising and affiliate relationships do not change what an article says.

Warranties and liability

Articles are offered in their current state, without a promise that they cover every family’s situation. As far as the law permits, the operator does not promise that the articles are complete, current or uninterrupted, and is not liable for loss arising from use of the site or from decisions made after reading it. Any rights you have under law that cannot be set aside, and any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, remain untouched.

Changes and severability

These terms or the site itself may be altered at any point, and new wording takes effect when it appears here. If any part is held unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
